The official list of those accepted for the 2008 Run was
determined primarily by the  Lottery
Drawing held at 9:00 AM, December 1, 2007, in the Cafeteria of
Placer High School, Auburn, CA.
 There were about 1,355
applications received this year. There were 357 slots available this year,
166 of which were filled by "automatics,"
such as top ten male and female finishers in last year's Race, etc. That left
191 slots to be filled via the Lottery Drawing and about 1,190 names to draw
from. The odds of any one applicant being drawn was about 16% -- somewhat less
than a 1 in 6 chance.
Please note that the annual Lottery Drawing is
Open to the Public. Runners who are entered in the drawing are
encouraged to attend: Prizes are given to Lottery winners who are present
when their name is drawn.
The semi-annual Raffle of two FREE 2009 entries was
held at the end of the Lottery. The Winners are posted HERE. An additional two names will be drawn for the 2009
Run on Check-In Day at Squaw Valley in June. |
